There is a new release up on Bandcamp today, “Seeing Time.” It’s 9 tracks of rhythmic, dark electronics. At the end of life, the mind begins the process of transitioning to the next step. That creates a deluge of seemingly disorganized thoughts. While much of them may sound incoherent, within those there are clue as to the nature of death and what that may really mean.
This was a personal, and difficult release for me. I recently lost my wife, Nora, to cancer. It was some of our last conversations that fueled the ideas in these tracks. It also helped me process everything we’d been through together and make better sense of her final days. This one is for her. Releasing it on the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year, during a year few will forget seems most appropriate.
