I watched one episode of "The Colony" because of this post (uhhh.. Joy Division's "Colony" just came up in iTunes as I typed that - cue Twilight Zone theme). I couldn't get over the fact that the participants were REALLY acting as if it was the end of the world. They were crying, yelling, getting violent etc. I know there are psychological factors involved but I just couldn't buy into the show for the very fact it's JUST A SHOW (which I kept yelling at the TV by the way). Too bad. It's an interesting idea.

It's a fair point, but I think solidarity among similar thinkers is different than changing someone's mind. Getting the congregation to sing with the choir is not the same thing converting someone to the religion who didn't believe. It takes a more personal interaction and more depth to do that.

Actually, protests help fuel solidarity for those who know something is wrong but aren't sure if they are alone in this knowledge. Nothing like seeing 10,000 faces of all different kinds of people to give you the push you need to go back into your everyday life and keep standing up for what you believe.

I would have been less disappointed with NWO if it had focused on culture jammers, which is what I was expecting and had been lead to believe. But I was mistaken, it focused on Alex Jones, which is fine. One guy and his theories about one series of events. I was amped for something that cast a much broader and more serious net.
